Don Papa Rum Launches NEW Rye Aged Rum within the U.S.

Don Papa Rum, the primary premium small batch rum from the Philippine island of Negros Occidental, is launching its latest expression: Rye Aged Rum (SRP: $54.99/700ml). This restricted version, tremendous premium manufacturing celebrates a novel and compelling pairing of American rye with Philippine molasses. It’s now accessible in choose markets throughout the nation.

This new bottling is distilled from native molasses on Negros and aged for 4 years in first-fill American rye casks beneath Mt. Kanlaon, the traditional and still-active volcano on the coronary heart of the island. Don Papa Rye Aged Rum is as sturdy as it’s assertive. The nostril is vibrant, redolent of lush fruit and salted caramel, giving approach to spice notes of cracked black pepper, cedar and mint. Velvet in texture and the colour of golden straw, this distinctive liquid is complicated, with a palate of dried fruit, toasted oak and wild honey. Don Papa Rye Aged finishes with delicacy and size, leaving lingering impressions of warming spice and darkish chocolate.

“Think about a inexperienced, lush rye subject on a fantastic Tennessee spring day merging with a heat tropical bathe blowing in from the Philippine sea,” says Stephen Carroll, founding father of Don Papa Rum. “That is the backdrop for Don Papa Rye Aged Rum — combining the extraordinary granular spice notes of American Rye barrels and our very personal black gold molasses rum, leading to a superbly balanced, silky easy and complicated new rum.”

Borrowing from a practice of excessive proof American whiskeys, the Rye Aged Rum is bottled at a daring 45% ABV. This unapologetic profile makes it as excellent in a Sazerac as it’s on the rocks. It’s a product that highlights the intersection of Filipino and American tradition and the lasting impression of america following the Philippine Revolution.

For the primary half of the twentieth century, Philippine society was inundated with American influences: Artwork Deco, Hollywood Regency, large bands and nightclubs. Whereas Filipinos had been distilling for hundreds of years by this level, the Negrense sugar growth of the Nineteen Twenties ushered in a brand new age of rum manufacturing on the archipelago, and Don Papa Rye Aged Rum is an ode to that period.

The gorgeous and complex bundle design is a juxtaposition of Prohibition-era American exuberance overlaid onto the luxurious jungle panorama of Sugarlandia, the native nickname for Negros that belies its tropical abundance. With its distinct visuals and unmistakable liquid profile, Don Papa Rye Aged Rum is a welcome addition to the Don Papa portfolio.

Don Papa Rum is offered now at choose retailers.
