Overview: Landmark Vineyards 2020 Damaris Chardonnay and 2019 Hop Kiln Pinot Noir


Landmark is a perennial favourite round right here, and at the moment we’re again with two contemporary 2023 releases, a chardonnay and a pinot noir.

2020 Landmark Vineyards Damaris Reserve Chardonnay Sonoma Coast – A traditional expression of Landmark at its greatest. Vivid notes of lemon and honey create a soothing assault that evokes lemon tea, with a pinch of ginger within the combine. Creamy vanilla and almond notes construct from there, setting an appropriately chewy stage, ultimately reaching a conclusion that gives a little bit of cleaning lime leaf and lemon peel. Certainly one of my favourite Landmark chardonnays thus far. A / $25

2019 Landmark Vineyards Hop Kiln Property Pinot Noir Russian River Valley – A considerably dense expression of pinot noir, with a thick black cherry character evident, each on the nostril and the palate. There’s a touch of pruny sweetness late within the sport, however parts of cloves, contemporary floor black pepper, and a transparent cola and tea leaf hold issues in stability. The wine finally ends up with a contact of contemporary bay leaf, providing a verdant character to the proceedings. I’m on the fence with a strong A right here, however… A- / $40
