August 18th – On Wednesday, August 17, roughly 50 winemakers and wine business professionals gathered at Fenestra Vineyard for Livermore Valley’s annual Blessing of the Grapes. Brandi Lombardi, Interim Director of the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Affiliation, led the ceremony and was joined by Fenestra’s Winemaker Aaron Luna and three native clergy who blessed the grapes:
- Father Kwame, St. Charles Borromeo
- Pastor Steve Wilde, First Presbyterian Church of Livermore
- Rabbi Larry Milder, Congregation Beth Emek
This centuries-old ceremony honors the vineyards and the individuals who make the annual harvest a actuality.
