Glen Esk a.okay.a. Glenesk a.okay.a. Hillside, in Montrose, closed in 1985, one of many moms of VAT69 and one of the obscure distilleries that ‘they’ have closed within the early-to-mid Eighties, after it is modified its identify many occasions. Glen Esk 26 yo 1974/2000 (52.7%, Signatory Classic, cask #89, 238 bottles) 
Color: white wine/straw. Nostril: this greasy sort of mineral oiliness that is actually to not be present in most of immediately’s malts. Hillside 28 yo 1971/2000 (51.4%, Signatory Classic, Silent Stills, Japan import, cask #1508, 242 bottles)

Nearly a Scottish mojito, with tighter lemons. Great, and great texture by the way in which. With water: much more lemony waxes than within the 1974.
